Third Level Debating/Corn Uí Chon Cheanainn



The Gael Linn third level debating competition will take place again this year we hope, with the final probably being broadcast live on Facebook, without a live audience, on Saturday 31 October 2020, the day on which it was scheduled to take place at the Oireachtas festival, had this festival gone ahead in Galway.
This competition will be organised in partnership with Caolán Mac Grianna, Student Co-Ordinator with Conradh na Gaeilge. Four third level college teams will compete for the Gael Linn/The Irish Times Cup and there will also be cash prizes for the winners and runners-up.

Gael Linn will again be supporting Corn Uí Chon Cheanainn in UCD in 2020. This is a sean-nós singing competition for third level students.

We are delighted to be associated with 'Maidens na Gaeilge', debating competitions being run by Cumann Gaelach, Trinity College and the Cumann Gaelach in UCD. Gael Linn provides support for societies in third level colleges who undertake to organise Irish language debating, either within their own college or in collaboration with other colleges. This support may include advice and/or financial sponsorship.
