Is méala mór do Gael Linn bás Charlie Lennon. Ba mhaith linn comhbhrón ó chroí a chur in iúl dá chlann agus dá chairde.
Dúirt, Wayne Mac Feilimí, Cathaoirleach Bhord Gael Linn, ‘Bhí tionchar mór ag Charlie Lennon ar cheol dúchasach na tíre seo. Bhí tallann as cuimse aige mar chumadóir agus mar sheinnteoir. Tá muid go léir faoi chomaoin mhór aige as an stór mór ceoil a d’fhág sé ina dhiaidh.’
Bhí tóir mhór ar cheol Charlie Lennon anseo in Éirinn agus go hidirnáisiúnta.
Mar chomóradh ar 1916 d’eisigh Gael Linn 'Áille na hÁille: a suite in honour of the heroes of 1916' agus é nuachumtha ag Charlie.
