From its foundation Gael Linn has been serving the needs of learners and teachers of the Irish language. Our current programme includes language classes for adults and teenagers, learning support materials, and opportunities to use the language. Gael Linn’s Summer colleges for teenagers are organised in three major Gaeltacht areas – two in Donegal and one in West Cork. Courses in these centres are run during June, July and August each year.

One of these is a dedicated sports’ course. Gael Linn has been involved in adult education for many years. Our courses are based on current best practice in language teaching and are delivered by qualified teachers. Courses are run in Dublin during the year and in the Gaeltacht during the summer. Special courses may be provided to cater for the specific needs of organisations. As part of our ongoing programme of support for the teaching of the Irish language, Gael Linn produces a range of support materials for teachers and learners, including publications for post-primary schools; posters; CD-ROMs; teaching kits for primary schools; etc.
