Promoting positive
experiences with Irish
for all
What we do
Gael Linn’s three main areas are; education, activities to support the use of the Irish language and the business aspect of the organisation.
We create opportunities for people of all ages to access, learn and speak the Irish language.
We run classes, events and schemes that give people the opportunity to speak Irish in a natural, social and enjoyable way by creating a connection with activities they enjoy – whether that be in the form of music, sports, debating or a multitude of other activities.

Opportunities for young people to use Irish in practical ways
For over a decade, Gael Linn has been at the forefront of providing practical support to schools across the country in promoting the Irish language. The old saying 'speaking a language is life' is true and the structure of our school schemes greatly contributes to normalising the language as a means of communication rather than an academic subject. The entire school community is encouraged to speak Irish more frequently.
Further informationGaelbhratach is an incentive scheme for schools. The scheme provides support, resources and information to schools around the country to help them speak Irish more often. It develops language and life skills among young people and they play an active role in the development of the Irish language in their own communities.
Visit gaelbhratach.ie‘Scoil Spreagtha’ is an accreditation scheme to celebrate and recognise the efforts made by English-medium primary schools to promote the Irish language in their school environment.
