The aim of Tráth na gCeist Gael Linn is to give young people in post-primary schools in Ulster who are learning Irish the opportunity to hear and use the language in an enjoyable, beneficial and fun way, and to support Irish teachers and their work.
The Quiz will be held in 8 locations across Ulster. Prizes will be awarded to the teams that come in first and second place in both divisions (Secondary School and Grammar School). The teams that come in first and second place will advance to a regional final which will be organised once we know the winners.
Each team consists of 4 students and any post-primary school in Ulster can enter teams from the junior classes. There will be a limit to the number of teams a school can enter (20 Teams). The competition is aimed at those in year 10, but students from year 8 or year 9 are also welcome.
Prizes are awarded to each member of the two teams with the highest marks in both divisions (Secondary School and Grammar School).
To enter teams and pay the £5/€5 per team fee, REGISTER at the top of the page and follow the instructions to complete and submit the form online. The closing date for entries is 24 September 2026.
