Description

This book, Aspects of a Shared Heritage, arose from cross-community work by Gael Linn that began in the 1990s and aimed to reduce misunderstandings between the two main communities. Gael Linn has received support from Foras na Gaeilge for this cross-community work and for this publication. In a series of interesting articles, aspects of the shared heritage between the two traditions are explored—covering music, place names, and learners’ experiences from different backgrounds. Plenty of examples are provided, and the book is elegantly laid out. Although Aspects of a Shared Heritage is quite a small book, it will have a considerable impact in helping people gain a fuller understanding of our shared heritage.
